Leadership Qualities on Veera Puran Appu in Sri Lanka

AIM

The aim of the post is to study and highlight the leadership qualities of Veera Puran Appu and include his leadership qualities in our life.

CHRONOLOGY

7th November 1812    - Veera  puran Appu was born in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

• 1825                             - He stayed at Rathmalana.

• 1842-1844                   - He become famous as a fearless      character in Uva province.

• 1847                             - He met & married Bandara manike.

• 28 July 1848               - Puran Appu led the Matale Kerella.

• 8 August 1848            - He was evacuated by the British.

INTRODUCTION

Veera Puran Appu originally name as Veera Hennedrige Fernando.

He was born in 7th November 1812.

His fathers name is Kalis Thoru Fernando and mother is Helena Hamine.

He married Bandaramanike in 1847 the daughter of Gunnapana Arachchi.

He become a fearless character in Uva province.

 Puran Appu was executed by the British on the 8th of August.

LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

COURAGE

A leader must have good courage to over com fear of danger and hardship.

Courage is a quality that can self control in any situation and accepting responsibilities in any situation.

Puran appu had enough courage to flight with British for freedom of Cylon (Sri Lanka).

He always motivated his subordinates to swept away the British from our country.

WILLPOWER

If any one reach to his aim by over coming every problem,that person having good willpower.

Veera Puran Appu had only one aim that was get the freedom of Sri Lanka

He always thought about that and he reach to his aim.

In the Matale keralla he showed his will power clearly.

Because of that sinhalese won the Matale keralla.

INITIATIVE 

Initiative means seeing what is has to be done and commencing a course of action.

Veera Puran Appu shows this quality thought out his political revolutionary.

Before every action that he taken he always think several times.

Because of his intiative he can won the Matale Keralla.

KNOWLEDGE

The Knowledge is the major quality that leaders must have.

Leaders must have good knowledge to control there subordinates to the correct way.

Puran appu allways planed before he went to the battle field.

Because of that he had successfully completed Matale Kerella

INTEGRITY 

Integrity is a combination of neither the christian virtues of honesty,sincerely,reliability,unselfishness and loyalty.

Puran appu always with his subordinates and they also trust him.

• He always asked other leaders ideas before he get a decision.    

SELF-CONFIDENCE

 

Self-confidence is a quality comes from knowledge and experience of person.

Veera puran appu went to Kandy and started the freedom war again British.

That shows his self confidence very well.

He also trusted his subordinates talents.

LESSON LEARNT

Veera puran appu was one of the most valubale person in Sri Lankan history.

We can learn many lesson from his character.He take dissection directly without any hesitation.He had a plan always before he do something.He overcome the difficulties to archive his aim.

He respect his religion and his nation.
